We're now over 50 days into the new year and while it may have seemed like a long time ago, it's definitely not too late to follow up on those resolutions you made at the beginning of the year. Whether you were aiming for a healthier diet, more productive work habits, or just overall self-improvement, it's important to stay on track with your goals. Here are some tips to help you make progress towards that New Year's resolution.
1. Get organized. Taking the time to organize your thoughts and prioritize your objectives can help ensure that you make measurable progress toward your goal. Make sure to write out a plan and set specific milestones and deadlines to help keep you on track.
2. Find an accountability partner. Having someone to support you along the way can be a great asset in reaching your resolution. Pick someone who will be honest and provide helpful feedback, and make sure to check in with each other regularly to discuss your progress.
(Insert shameless plug for coaching here ;-P)
3. Celebrate the small wins. Break your big resolution down into smaller parts and reward yourself for each step you take. This can give you the motivation to keep going and will make the process much more enjoyable. The goal should be to move the needle just 1% each day.
4. Stay motivated. Figure out what keeps you motivated and use that to power your journey. Whether it’s reading inspirational quotes, pursuing a creative outlet, or even watching videos of people achieving their goals, whatever works for you should be pursued.
It can be difficult to stay motivated and follow through with a New Year's resolution, but it's possible. With a clear plan, trustworthy support system, and plenty of motivation, you can have a successful year and achieve all of your goals.
